Israeli company Kamada, which develops treatments for orphan diseases, has raised less than it aimed for on its Nasdaq IPO. The company was hoping to raise up to $69 million, but was only able to raise $51.6 million.

Israeli company Woolik, which develops personalized online search solutions, has been acquired by Israeli translation giant Babylon Ltd. Babylon, which paid $8 million in cash and shares, is a world leader in online translation services and will integrate Woolik’s services with its own.

Israeli VC Qumra Capital, which was recently founded by Evergreen Venture Partners general partners Boaz Dinte and Erez Shachar, has raised $40 million towards its first investment fund.

“Globes” reports that Qumra aims to raise $100 million by the end of the year, for investment in later-stage startups.

Israeli company Brainsway Ltd., which develops non-invasive treatments using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), has received the EU’s CE Marketing stamp of approval for its Deep TMS system. The company will use the system for treating autism, Alzheimer’s and cigarette addiction.

The approval was granted by MedCert, which is qualified for approving medical treatments by CE Marketing. Earlier this year, Brainsway won FDA and Health Canada approval.

After earlier reports suggested that social network giant Facebook is in talks to acquire Israeli GPS company Waze for up to $1 billion, AllThingsD now reports that the deal will not go through.

AllThingsD reports that the talks dissolved in recent days, according to sources, due in part to conflicts over whether or not the Waze team — which is predominantly based in Israel — would move over to the United States and fold itself into Facebook’s Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters, among other reasons.

Israeli software company Matrix has launched “Matrix Global China” and inaugurated its first flagship project – a first round of recruitment of Chinese engineers for its development center in the city of Changzhou. The center will specialize in developing mobile apps for Matrix’s clients around the world.

Israeli company Alvarion Ltd., which provides wireless broadband solutions, is raising $3 million in a private investment in public equity (PIPE) offering to Israeli investors, sources inform “Globes.” The offering will be conducted at a discount of 10 percent on the share price. Before this latest round of financing, Alvarion had less than $5 million in cash.

As part of the Israel Conference which starts tomorrow in Los Angeles, NoCamles will be handing out NFC business cards. The cards by TapMyBiz contain digital data about NoCamels and all the Israeli startups and innovation it covers.

Startup TapMyBiz is trying to change the way people use business cards. Instead of plain paper, the cards have NFC chips embedded in them, which can be pressed to any Android device and instantly transfer data.

Mail.Ru Group, one of the largest Internet companies in the Russian-speaking markets, is investing $1.5 million in Israeli company Cortica. The funds will go towards Cortica’s Image2Text technology. This investment is a part of the larger round lead by other high profile investors.

Image2Text technology automatically extracts core concepts from images and video and maps these concepts to keywords and textual taxonomies.

Israeli company Neuronix, which develops Alzheimer’s treatments, is planning an IPO on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). Globes reports that the company wishes to raise NIS 19 million (Approx. $5.1 million).

Neuronix’s treatments are based on a combination of electromagnetic stimulation of the brain combined with cognitive exercise. The company says that treatment slows down the progress of Alzheimer’s.

Popular Israeli public transportation app NetBus has raised $500,000 in a seed financing round. The company says it will use the funds in order to expand into the US market and to update the app in collaborations with the Israeli Ministry of Transportation, to include means of public transportations other than busses.

Israeli company imonomy, which developed software that automatically matches copyright-free pictures with content, has raised $400,000 in a seed financing round. The company says that the investment were made by private angel investors.

Israeli company Tipa Corporation, which develops and manufactures biodegradable and recyclable packages, has raised investment funds led by food and agro-innovation fund GreenSoil Investments. The amount invested was not disclosed but Globes reports that the sum at $1.5 million.

Israeli company Gasngo‘s subsidiary, Gasngo Latin America, has raised $12 million in a financing round led by LAIG Investments. Gasngo offers automatic vehicle identification services.

The company says the funds will be directed to expand its Latin American operations, which are currently focused mainly in Mexico.

Israeli company LoyalBlocks, which develops loyalty marketing solutions for small businesses, has announced the closing of a successful series A financing round, raising $9 million.

The round was led by General Catalyst Partners with participation from Founder Collective and existing investor Gemini Israel Ventures. Loyalblocks’ main offices are in New York with a development center in Israel.
