October 11, 2015 | Cincinnati startup network, Cintrifuse is partnering with OurCrowd to help local entrepreneurs find funding while bringing Israeli startups to Cincinnati. Cintrifuse provides entrepreneurs access to mentors, support services, low-cost co-working space and introductions to major corporations and investors. The partnership was made possible by an undisclosed amount from the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati.

October 11, 2015 | Israeli energy company Delek Group said that it is taking a 20 percent stake in Ithaca Energy, a British oil and gas exploration and production company, operating in the North Sea. The deal is valued at $66M.

Tel Aviv-Berlin Announce Startup Exchange
October 8, 2015 | The cities of Tel Aviv and Berlin are launching a collaboration program that includes a startup exchange. Tel Aviv Global, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, Berlin Partner and Berlin Mayor Michael Müller will launch the program next week at WeWork Tel Aviv, where five startups will have the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to Berlin. The program will provide Tel Aviv startups with the opportunity to work in Berlin by providing them with support, workspace, and connections in the Berlin startup ecosystem.

Scalock Raises $4M In Series A Funding
October 8, 2015 | Scalock, the Israeli container security company, announced that it raised $4 million in Series A funding. The funding was raised from TLV Partners. The company plans to keep its engineering team in Tel Aviv, but reportedly has plans to open a sales and marketing office in Silicon Valley in the next year. Scalock was founded in 2015 by Amir Jerbi and Dror Davidoff.

CreidtEase Establishes Israeli Innovation Fund
October 8, 2015 | The Chinese firm CreditEase announced that it would establish a CreditEase Israel Innovation Fund (CEIIF), a venture capital and private equity fund. The fund has already raised $30 million from interested Chinese clients. CEIIF will be managed by Israel Innovation Investment Management and will focus on investment in private Israeli and US technological firms. CreditEase was founded in 2006 by Ning Tang.

SpaceIL Takes Huge Step Towards Winning Google Lunar XPRIZE
October 8, 2015 | The Israeli team competing for the Google Lunar XPRIZE, SpaceIL is the first international team to sign a contract with aerospace manufacturer SpaceX. SpaceIL signed the contract with SpaceX and submitted it to the contest judges for approval. If SpaceIL continues on their trajectory, they could be the first international team with guide an unmanned craft into lunar orbit. The first team to complete this task will win $20 million in prize money from Google. SpaceIL is one of 16 international teams competing and the first to have their contract, financial and technical details approved by the contest.

Barclays To Open Tel Aviv Accelerator
October 8, 2015 | The global bank Barclays has announced that it will open an accelerator in Tel Aviv as part of its network of Rise accelerators. The accelerator operated in Tel Aviv will work with 10 Israeli startups in the financial technology and cyber security sectors. The Barclays acceleration program will extend over a period of 13 weeks. Barcalys Rise accelerator program was created with the goal of discovering breakthrough financial technologies, in a program powered by Techstars. The Tel Aviv accelerator is set to open in March 2016.

Hebrew U Ranked 178th In Times Rankings
October 7, 2015 | The Hebrew University of Jerusalem has been ranked as the top Israeli university and the 178th best university out of 800 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2015-2016. The Hebrew University was the only Israeli university to place in the world’s top 200 universities in the rankings, which are compiled and published by the British magazine Times Higher Education.

The acquisition will help Zend extend the reach of its PHP services in larger enterprises. Zend CEO Andi Gutmans will be joining Rogue Wave’s leadership. October 7, 2015 | According to a report in “TheMarker,” the Israeli video company Kaltura is reportedly requesting the services of US bank Goldman Sacs in issuing an initial public offering in the US. The report stipulates that Kaltura hopes to raise up to $100 million in the offering, or a potential private funding round. Kaltura is a video content startup that provides its services to a number of leading news and education institutions. CDI And Allscripts Announce Strategic Partnership

Ford Incorporates HearMeOut Tech In Vehiles
October 7, 2015 | Ford Motor Co. announced that it will incorporate Israeli tech HearMeOut in its SYNC AppLink system within in vehicles. Together with Ford’s AppLink system, HearMeOut’s technology will allow for drivers to engage in an optimized social network experience while driving. HearMeOut’s technology allows users to “listen” to posts and “speak” their own on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. HearMeOut is headed by CEO Moran Chamsi.
