October 8, 2015 | The Israeli team competing for the Google Lunar XPRIZE, SpaceIL is the first international team to sign a contract with aerospace manufacturer SpaceX. SpaceIL signed the contract with SpaceX and submitted it to the contest judges for approval. If SpaceIL continues on their trajectory, they could be the first international team with guide an unmanned craft into lunar orbit. The first team to complete this task will win $20 million in prize money from Google. SpaceIL is one of 16 international teams competing and the first to have their contract, financial and technical details approved by the contest.
