HydroSpin developed micro-generators that use the flow of water within pipelines to develop electricity. The power generated is then used for monitors and devices that detect leakages or bursts.

Israeli company Curapipe Systems develops a solution for water pipe leakages, without needing to replace the pipeline or digging up streets. Leaks are sealed by injecting special viscous substances into water mains.

According to Israeli startup Stream Control, 40 percent of the water available to us is lost every year, primarily because of leaks. This "non-revenue" water costs 14 billion dollars per year, the company says. Stream Control's solution is called Aqua-Guard, an electronic controller device that can minimize leakages caused by excessive pressure in pipes.
