Colorful, a new Windows phone application, says it can act as eyes for the color blind. The app enables users to distinguish colors using their phone's camera - using filters to change the color schemes and to fit the users color vision deficiency.

Grindr is considered to be the most successful gay dating/acquaintance app in the world, with more that 2 million users meeting each other based on their geographical location. Now, Grindr's CEO plans to launch another location based app for the straight community, called Amicus.

Israeli students are putting their heads together to create green smart-phone applications that will help environmental causes. Their apps will presented at a clean-tech exhibit in July.

Facebook has rolled out a new application targeting lower-spec feature phones. The app was developed in conjunction with the Israeli-based start-up Snaptu.
