Israeli Analytics Company SiSense Raises $8M
SiSense Ltd., an Israeli company which provides an end-to-end business intelligence solution, called Prism, which can be installed at enterprises within an hour and without the need for business intelligence expertise, has raised $8 million. The funds were invested by current investors. Since its foundation in 2005, SiSense has raised $13.5 million.

Israeli Given Imaging Applies For FDA Approval Of Endoscopic Capsule
Given Imaging Ltd., an Israeli company that develops capsuled equipped with cameras for visualization of the gastrointestinal tract, has filed with the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to get approval for its PillCam Colon 2 Capsule. The capsule is a complementary product for colonoscopies and has a target market of $1.7 billion.

Wireless Solutions Provider Ceragon Wins 2 African Contracts For $28M
Israeli company Ceragon Networks Ltd. has announced that it has received two follow-up contracts for providing wireless backhaul equipment and service in Africa. The company has not disclosed which countries that contracts were signed with, but did say that the contracts have a combined value of $28 million.

Israeli Entrepreneur Shai Reshef Listed On ‘Top 100 Global Thinkers’
Businessman and entrepreneur Shai Reshef was named one of the world’s ‘Top 100 Global Thinkers’, listed on Foreign Policy magazine. Reshef is the only Israeli listed who isn’t affiliated with the Israeli government. The 57 year-old Reshef founded University of the People, an online university there years ago, which allows students from all around the world to receive a recognized bachelor’s degree for free.

Israel And Singapore Approve $165,000 For Development Of App To Assist Autistic Kids
Israeli Center for Educational Technology (CET) and Singaporean Dynamics Speech will jointly develop an iPad app designed to assist autistic children perform everyday tasks. The project will be funded by The Singapore-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (SIIRD), which has approved a NIS640,000 ($165,000) grant for the project.

Insurance Giant Generali Chooses Israeli Earnix For Its Big Data Solution
Israeli company Earnix has announced that Generali PPF Holdings (GPH), the largest insurance group in Europe and Russia, has chosen to implement Earnix Optimizer as its pricing platform. Israeli financial magazine Calcalist estimates the deal to be worth up to $3 million.

Israel Up To European Standards In Bottle Recycling
Ela Recycling Association, Israeli nonprofit organization, reports that Israel’s plastic bottling recycling has been growing steadily over the past 10 years. According to the organization, 50.3 percent of all plastic bottles are recycled in Israel, rivaling the European 51 percent. The Israeli number is much higher than the US, which recycles 29.3 percent of its plastic bottles.

The company posted some 20 job offers on its official website for positions in Israel, most of which in the offices of recently acquired Anobit, located in Herzlia. American corporation 3M has chosen VocalZoom as its first investment in Israel. Financial magazine Calcaist reports that 3M will invest $4 million in the Israeli company, which develops noise reduction technology for voice calls. The Modi’in-based company is developing a system that uses two sensors, one for voice recognition and one for visual recognition of lip-movement, and combined the data for optimal noise reduction.

IDenta Corp. Receives Patent For New Drugs And Explosive Sniffer
Israeli forensic product corporation IDenta, which develops electronic sniffers for the detection of explosives and drugs, has received patent status for its latest product. The company says it has finished work on the prototype and that it will begin shipping the sniffer in the first quarter of 2013.
