Technion Receives $130M Donation From Li Ka-Shing
September 30, 2013 | Chinese billionaire Li Ka-Shing, who is a serial investor in Israeli companies, has donated $130 million to Technion Israel Institute of Technology. The funds, donated via the Li Ka-Shing Foundation, will be used to build a new academic facility in Guangdong Province in cooperation with Shantou University (STU). The donation is the largest ever given to the Technion.

The round was led by Kaedan Capital and Entrée Capital. Visualead is used by some 200,000 small and medium businesses worldwide.

SimilarWeb, an Israeli company that develops analytic tools for monitoring and ranking websites, is in the process of raising $3.5 million. The funds will be raised in a financing round with participation from current investors. SimilarWeb has raised $7 million to date.

Social Media Platform For Gamers Developer Overwolf Raises $5.3M
September 18, 2013 | Israeli startup Overwolf, which developed a platform for integrating social media into gaming, has raised $5.3 million in series A financing. The financing round was led by New York based Marker LLC.
Overwolf was launched in 2010 and according to the company, its software client has been installed by 2.7 million users.
