June 3, 2015 | Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva Pharmaceutical Industries announced the launch of a generic ADHD treatment, the equivalent of the INTUNIV drug. The generic version of INTUNIV will be launched in the United States in 1, 2, 3 and 4 milligram doses. The INTUNIV drug is made up of a chemical called Guanfacine that is a non-stimulant treatment for ADHD.

June 2, 2015 | Saul Singer, who co-authored the seminal book Startup Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, has raised $20 million for a new nonprofit organization he recently founded with his wife, according to a Calcalist report. Called Startup Nation Central, the organization connects investors to Israeli startups, and is headed by Wendy Singer. The book by Singer and Dan Senor about the economy of Israel was published in 2009 and has since been translated to several languages.

Nano Dimension Raises $11M
June 2, 2015 | Nano Dimension, an Israeli developer of 3D printers, has raised $11 million in a private placement on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Based in Ness Ziona, startup company Nano Dimension (TASE: NNDM) was founded in 2012 by Aymeric Sallin.

Report: Intel To Acquire Altera For $17B
June 1, 2015 | According to a number of reports, Intel is expected to acquire Altera for $17 billion. Altera is an American manufacturer of Programmable Logic Devices that has been an appealing acquisition prospect for Intel since March. Intel, the worldwide processor manufacturer and distributor, has its largest research and development center and chip factory outside of the United States in Israel, employing nearly 10,000 local Israeli employees.

Superfish Changes Name To ‘JustVisual’
June 1, 2015 | The Israeli visual search company Superfish announced that it will change its name and business direction in light of complaints about its service. According to Superfish co-founder Adi Pinhas, Superfish will change its name to ‘JustVisual‘ and it will focus solely on its visual search technology, that is able to identify objects and provide information on images. Superfish and its controversial ad-targeting practices will be discontinued, and JustVisual promises to be more up-front about its ad-injection practices. JustVisual was established on April 7, 2015 by the founders of Superfish, Adi Pinhas and Michael Chertok.

CyberArk To Raise $250M In Third Offering
June 1, 2015 | The Israeli cyber security firm CyberArk Software filed with the US SEC to raise $250 million in its third public offering on NASDAQ. CyberArk previously raised $85.8 million at a company valuation of $473 million during its IPO in September 2014, then raising $200 million in a secondary offering in March 2015. Currently, the company has a market cap of $1.9 billion. CyberArk was founded by Udi Mokady in 1999 and is headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts.

Playtech Acquires Plus500 For Approx. $2.7B
June 1, 2015 | Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi’s company Playtech will acquire Plus500, the Israeli online trading company. The total value of the acquisition is valued at 400 pence a share or 459.6 million pounds (about $2.7 billion). The announcement of the acquisition comes just weeks after Plus500’s shares on the London Stock Exchange dropped suddenly in value. Playtech was founded in 1999 by Teddy Sagi.

May 31, 2015 | Google announced that it acquired the app performance startup Pulse.io for an undisclosed amount. Pulse.io allows developers to see how they can speed up their app performance and it will continue to remain available to existing customers until further notice. Pulse.io has raised about $1.75 million in funding since it was founded in 2012 by Ofer Ronen and Keith Simmons.

Teva To Pay $1.2B In Antitrust Suit
May 31, 2015 | Teva Pharmaceutical Industries will pay $1.2 billion to settle a lawsuit in preventing the marketing of a generic drug similar to Teva’s Provigil. Provigil is produced by Teva’s subsidiary Cephalon and a number of retailers and wholesalers sued the company for preventing the marketing of their similar generic products. According to the ruling, Teva’s attempt to block the sale of generic drug similar to Provigil is a violation of US antitrust laws. Teva was founded in 1901 and is headed by CEO Erez Vigodman.

Ginger Software And Any.DO Partner On Task Management Tech
May 31, 2015 | Ginger Software and task management app Any.DO announced that they will work together on using Ginger’s Android Keyboard to write and dictate tasks and notes onto Any.DO’s platform. The partnership between the two companies will be completed used Ginger Software’s SmartBar technology. Now users to Ginger’s keyboard and Any.do’s task management tools can automatically take notes based on a conversation, dictate tasks and organize daily tasks all from the keyboard. Ginger Software was founded in 2007 by Yael Karov and Any.do was founded by Omer Perchik, Yoni Lindenfeld and Itay Kahana.

Report: Beepi To Raise $300M At $2B Valuation
May 31, 2015 | The accessible used car marketplace Beepi announced that it is raising at least $300 million at a $2 billion valuation, according to the “Wall Street Journal”. Though the final amount has yet to be finalized, the co-founder and CEO Alex Resnik said that the ‘monster round’ would reach at least $300 million and that it would close by the end of next month. The funds will reportedly be used to expand Beepi’s services, which is currently only available in a number of US states, across the US by the end of the year and to expand internationally by the end of 2016. Beepi was founded by Ale Resnik and Owen Savir in 2013 and is based in Los Altos, California.
