Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in both Israel and the entire Middle East, is boosting its partnership with a specialist in remote monitoring for pregnant women during the country’s current war with Hamas.
Sheba Beyond, the medical center’s virtual hospital, and the Tel Aviv-based Nuvo Group say they have accelerated their collaboration to transform the care for high-risk pregnancies, in particular for women requiring inpatient maternal and fetal monitoring.
The technologies involved in the at-home care include Nuvo’s FDA-cleared INVU self-administered remote monitoring system for pregnant women.
The virtual hospital says that the benefits of remote monitoring for pregnant women include real-time and accurate data collection from the home, reducing maternal stress levels and optimizing resources during the conflict.
“Over the past year, we’ve harnessed state-of-the-art technologies to transform the maternity journey. In these difficult wartime conditions, the need for agility is paramount,” said Dr. Avi Tsur, director of obstetrics at Sheba Beyond and of the Sheba Women’s Health Innovation Center.
“Our partnership with Nuvo has been instrumental in swiftly establishing a home hospitalization system for our high-risk pregnancy patients. We designed the intense remote care protocol to deliver top-notch medical attention to our patients in the comfort and safety of their homes,” he said.
“Nuvo is honored to be a part of such an innovative program under incredibly difficult circumstances,” said Nuvo CEO Kelly Londy.
“Nuvo strives to give life a better beginning every day, and the amazing work done by the teams at Sheba Beyond, ARC [Sheba’s innovation arm] and Nuvo is truly inspiring. We look forward to continuing our work with Sheba through this crisis and beyond.”
