Leading tech company Redis, which was founded by Israelis, has teamed up with Israeli charitable organization Ezer Lachaim to develop an app for hospital transportation to hospital for those in need during the country’s ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza.
Ezer Lachaim, which offers support to people with serious health issues, already provides transport for people undergoing medical treatment or those visiting loved ones in hospital.
The app is designed to expand that service, which has until now operated solely through WhatsApp and phone calls. It will increase the hours of availability, the areas covered, and the number of people it serves. People can access the app here.
The transportation service will now also be offered to soldiers, delivery of food baskets, and people leaving their homes in conflict zones.
“Especially, during this challenging period, Redis will do everything it can to help,” said Danielle Tabin-Rotem, senior director of HR at Redis.
The company, which is today headquartered in California, is also providing other services for its Israeli employees, including providing psychological and emotional support.
“Simultaneously, we encourage and support employees engaging in voluntary activities such as blood donations, food collection, and logistical help. We will continue to assist as much as possible, hoping for quieter days,” Tabin-Rotem said.
