The Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) has launched a 40 million shekels (approx. $11 million) program that will allocate resources to three different sectors: delivery technology, bio-convergence, and education.
Through this three-pronged approach, companies are encouraged to reimagine the future of tech, where walking robots, same-day deliveries and printable organs are possible.
The IIA is a Jerusalem-based branch of the Israeli government dedicated to supporting industrial research and development.
The program aims to create an environment to address pressing technological challenges, such as autonomous home delivery services, AI-powered tech combining biology and engineering, and state-of-the-art security for schools.
The initiative aims to increase collaboration between various technological startups and companies, as well as Israeli authorities like the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, the Ministry of Health, and the national police force.
The Authority also hopes to increase the number of investors in these fields, which will provide a competitive edge to these startups as they break into the global market.
“The program is designed to propel the Israeli technological leadership in the selected sectors,” said Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority.
“We are focusing on areas that we believe have tremendous growth potential, and in which Israeli technology companies have a relative advantage as well as the possibility of leading innovative products’ development that will change the world.”
