EyeKnow, an Israeli startup that tracks the way kindergarten staff relate to the toddlers in their care, has won the Nursing Care Efficiencies Challenge. The challenge is jointly run by Start-Up Nation Central, a non-profit to support Israeli startups internationally, and Detroit’s Henry Ford Health Innovations, which advances healthcare developments.
The winner has been awarded $75,000 to work with Henry Ford Health to further develop their product and to enter the US market.
The startup’s platform uses CCTV cameras and AI to automatically detect both positive and negative interactions between adults and children in kindergartens.
The judging panel, comprising health industry experts, selected EyeKnow from among more than 40 Israeli startups who could integrate into the American healthcare system and could potentially benefit nursing workflows.
Haifa-based EyeKnow, which was founded in 2020, examines child-adult interactions caught on video and shares them with kindergarten owners and law enforcement agencies, among others.
This, the company says, results in a significant reduction in cases of abuse incidents and a dramatic increase in the quality of care provided.
