An Israeli startup teaching English language using generative AI has emerged from stealth (operating without any public awareness) with $9.25 million in seed funding.
Tel Aviv-based Loora received its funding from venture capital companies as well as angels and tech firms.
According to Loora, the funding will be used for further research and development of the AI platform, to increase the size of its team and expand its marketing program.
The startup says it has developed the most advanced AI tutor for English, using a specially designed system of language models that have been trained to create an optimal, personalized learning experience for each of its users.
The platform gives users the ability to converse naturally with a native English speaker at any time and on any topic, while delivering feedback in real time. The company says more than two thirds of its users are learning English for professional purposes, and that their AI coach is particularly designed for this.
“Our conversational AI was created and optimized specifically to enable people to access more opportunities by equipping them with the English skills they need to thrive. We’re thrilled to have the support of investors who recognize the importance and far-reaching impact of our technology, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the future of English language learning,” said Loora CEO and co-founder Roy Mor.
The program is currently only available as an iOS app, but hopes to expand to Android this year.
