Helping Orthodox Jews Break Into Hi-Tech
A new program will help orthodox Jewish entrepreneurs to integrate into Israel’s hi-tech and technology industries.
It is the first of its kind, and will provide them with mentoring, marketing and sales skills. It will also teach them how to raise funds and adapt their products, and connect with other groups within the population.
The program was presented at the Israeli President’s residence by a group of representatives. It aligns with the Israeli President’s new “Exchange Word” initiative, which calls for a fruitful dialogue between the different parts of the nation.
The program was developed as a partnership between orthodox entrepreneurship program Dos Ventures, and Intel Ignite (the company’s startup accelerator program).
“We all want to see the orthodox public enter the high-tech sector. It is only natural,” said the President of Israel, Yitzhak Herzog.
“As long as we provide a supportive environment for the young orthodox in high-tech companies, subject to their needs, the sky’s the limit.
“I am a big believer in the integration of the orthodox public into the world of employment and in general in the various public circles of Israeli society.
“I was happy to host the representatives of Intel Ignite and Dos Ventures at the President’s Residence, and to personally meet the startups from the orthodox community who are participating in the joint program of the two.
“The potential is unlimited and I congratulate you and your cooperation. This is a tremendous thing. Well done.”
Dos Ventures connects its orthodox participants with many mentors in the community who assist their path into the hi-tech world. They can attend workshops on finding work in the industry, English studies, and more.
Intel Ignite Global is an accelerator program that supports early-stage startups by providing them with resources and business opportunities to assist with their growth. Over 150 entrepreneurs from 68 different companies that have participated in the program have raised over $1 billion.
