AI Art Increases Awareness Of Early Cancer Diagnosis
Images generated by AI are being used in a new video campaign to increase the early diagnosis of cancer.
They show people imagining their future and asking AI for answers to online questions such as “how will I look when I am a grandfather?”, “what will my son’s wedding look like?”, and “what will I do when I retire?”.
Instead of a written response, AI generates images of a positive future that awaits, if they go ahead and get regular tests for cancer.
The campaign, launched today (February 5) by the Israel Cancer Association, focuses particularly on early cervical, breast, and colon cancer diagnosis.
The goal is to motivate action and increase awareness of the types of cancer in which early diagnosis is of dramatic importance. The campaign’s slogan is “Instead of imagining the future, experience it, early detection can save lives”.
The campaign coincides with International Cancer Day and is presented in a creative way focusing on messages that encourage the public to access tests for early diagnosis by looking to the future. It was created by Gitam BBDO, a marketing and advertising agency, which helps the association on a voluntary basis.
Early cancer diagnosis increases the chances of survival. It prevents the disease from spreading too far, meaning that patients have more treatment options which are more likely to be successful.
The Israel Cancer Association was founded in 1952 to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality and improve the quality of cancer patients’ lives. It works closely with health authorities, but is funded solely by private contributions, with no government funding.
