Israel Ranks 10th Healthiest Nation In The World
Israel came in 10th in the 2019 edition of the Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index published this week. The survey ranks 169 economies according to factors that contribute to overall health, such as life expectancy, obesity rates, access to clean water, sanitation, mental health, and vaccination coverage.
Israel came in ninth in the previous index in 2017, dropping one spot. Its current overall score was 88.2.
Spain was crowned the world’s healthiest country in the latest survey with an overall grade of 92.8, climbing five spots from 2017 and overtaking Italy.
Italy came in second followed by Iceland, Japan, and Switzerland to round out the top five.
Sweden placed 6th, climbing two spots from 2017, while Australia dropped from fifth place in the previous index to seventh. Singapore dropped two spots to number eight, from four in 2017, and Norway climbed two spots to number nine.
The US ranked 35th in the index.
