Four hosts were selected for the 64th Eurovision Song Contest set to be held on May 18 in Tel Aviv, a year after Israeli singer Netta Barzilai clucked her way to victory with her female empowerment anthem “Toy” in Lisbon, Portugal.
The hosts are model, actress and businesswoman Bar Refaeli, Arab-Israeli poet, TV presenter and radio host Lucy Ayoub, popular TV host Erez Tal, and TV host and show creator Assi Azar.
Azar co-hosts Israel’s “The Next Star” singing competition show, which selects Israel’s entry to the Eurovision contest.
The European Broadcasting Union made the official announcement on Friday.
Tel Aviv is gearing up to welcome some 20,000 visitors during the competition, which will run May 14-18, and an estimated NIS 100 million ($27 million) in direct revenue, the municipality has said. The city has thought of some creative accommodation solutions for the influx of participants and tourists, including cruise ship lodging and glamping.
