Tel Aviv startup network SOSA says that since the launch two months ago of a new cybersecurity initiative in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to establish the Global Cyber Center as a space for NYC’s growing cybersecurity ecosystem, it has added some 100 partners to the venture.
Notable VCs and investors in the venture include Eniac Ventures, Innovation Endeavors, WorldQuant Ventures, Team8, Blumberg Capital, and Work-Bench.
“We are excited to continue growing our network as we bolster the reach of the Global Cyber Center,” said Uzi Scheffer, SOSA CEO. “The Global Cyber Center is vital for the advancement of the cybersecurity industry as well as the budding tech community in NYC, and SOSA is committed to leveraging our relationships with top investors around the world to bring innovation and collaboration to the international cybersecurity community.”
Scheffer says that a focus for the Global Cyber Center “are financial and insurance technology, which are in desperate need for cybersecurity innovation.
As part of the initiative, SOSA works to foster collaboration and innovation with corporations, investors, startups, and talent from around the world. The Global Cyber Center will also offer industry events, as well as a co-working space for startups and a virtual testing ground to run simulations.
SOSA, with hubs in Tel Aviv and New York, was founded in 2014 by prominent Israeli investors and entrepreneurs to create a place for tech innovation while also promoting joint business activity for its members. SOSA’s current network currently provides access to about 8,5000 startups, 150 investors, venture capital funds, and international corporations.
