February 25, 2015 | Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella before the tech giant’s annual event Think Next, held in Tel Aviv today. The two discussed enhancing cooperation between Israel and the operations of Microsoft, now celebrating the 25th anniversary of the company’s R&D center in Israel. Netanyahu also assured the CEO that export restrictions on cyber technology were being considered thoughtfully and thoroughly. Nadella meanwhile reaffirmed his company’s commitment to Israel in the form of assistance programs for start-ups, implementation of advanced technologies in all sectors of the economy, and promotion of STEM education programs. Nadella said after the meeting: “At Microsoft, we seek to empower every Israeli citizen, every business, every startup, all key government organizations to achieve more. With our tools, customers and developers here in Israel have the digital technology and the platforms needed to realize new opportunities for growth and the forthcoming.”
