October 15, 2015 | Waze’s carpooling app Ridewith rolls out between Tel Aviv, Herzliya, and Modi’in. Google, Waze’s parent company, decided to use Israel as its testing ground for the app because of the widespread use of Waze in the country. Founded in Israel in 2009 by Uri Levine, Ehud Shabtai, and Amir Shinar, Waze was acquired by Google in 2013 for $1 billion.
