March 11, 2015 | The data center hardware components provider SimpliVity announced that it raised new funds to the tune of $175 million. The funds give the company an estimated valuation of $1 billion. SimpliVity’s technology provides companies with the option to run various applications on physical servers, reducing the amount of servers needed to run their systems. The company has some 300 customers including the Dairy Farmers of America, MLB Network, Swisscom, among others. SimpliVity was founded in 2009 by Doron Kempel.
