September 18, 2014 | The Israeli mobile social video and photo sharing platform mobli announced that it acquired Pheed in a cash and stock deal. While the details of the transaction were not disclosed, sources close to the deal estimate that mobli will pay between $10-$20 million for Pheed. Mobli commented that it plans to invest $10 million in remaking Pheed, a mobile social network with five million users pioneering the sector of content monetization, but that it will remain a stand-alone platform. Mobli was founded in 2007 by CEO Moshe Hogeg and currently employs 70 at its headquarters in Israel.
