August 12, 2014 | Tel Aviv-based startup JoyTunes announced that it raised $5 million in Series A funding led by Aleph Venture Capital and in participation with Formation 8. JoyTunes has developed a music teaching application that shortens the process for children and adults learning to play music. JoyTunes was created by CEO and co-founder Yuval Kaminka together with his former music instructor Roey Izkovsky and his brother Yigal Kiminka. JoyTunes how has 3.5 million organic downloads in the App Store and over one million songs are played through its app each week.
