July 27, 2014 | The Israeli company BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics is expected to receive a $5 million grant from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. The funds will go towards conducting trials on its product in conjunction with the University of Sao Paolo, according to “Globes.” The company has yet to respond to the reports, which are not yet official. BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics specializes in developing stem cell therapies for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
