Israeli company Given Imaging, which develops pills mounted with cameras to replace endoscopies, has announced that it has won the US Food and Drug Administration’s clearance for its next generation PillCam.
The new PillCam, SB 3, detects and monitors small bowel abnormalities associated with Crohn’s disease, obscure gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding and iron deficiency anemia.
