Israeli medical company Given Imaging, which developed PillCam, a pill mounted with a camera to replace colonoscopy, has won medical approval in Japan. Japan’s Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) has approved the pill for use when colonoscopy cannot be conducted, including situations in which the patient is unwilling to undergo the procedure.
