An agreement between the Technion and a Chinese educational foundation was signed at the Technion on June 17th, to establish a fund of about $10 million to have top Chinese students study and do research at the Technion over a period of 20 years.
The agreement between the Technion and the Hanqing International Education Foundation, founded by Chinese businessman Zhao Hanqing, was signed by Mr. Zhao and by Technion President Prof. Peretz Lavie and by Executive VP and Director General Prof. Arnon Bentur, in a festive ceremony in the presence of the Mayor of the Chinese city of Handan, Mr. Hui Jian, and the Mayor of Haifa, Mr. Yona Yahav.
