A team of Israeli researchers from Hadassah Medical Center has achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare, potentially life-threatening disease, which causes paralysis. The team has identified the gene responsible for the condition and developed an experimental treatment which saved the lives of four children suffering from the disease, some of which have also regained the ability to walk.
