The Israeli national water company Mekorot has announced that it will install a turbine that will use water pressure from the National Water Carrier of Israel to produce clean electricity. The electricity generated by the turbine will be the yearly equivalent of 1,000 tons of coal. The project will launch in the coming month and is estimated at NIS 7 million.
