One of the laureates for the MacArthur Fellows Program, which awards $500k to “talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction” is Israeli-American mathematician Prof. Maria Chudnovsky. Chudnovsky, who studied in the Technion Institute, is currently an associate professor in the department of industrial engineering and operations research at Columbia University in New York.
