The plans were announced by Sodastream CEO Daniel Birnbaum and PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta at a Globes Business Conference last week.

Pepsi acquired Sodastream's outstanding shares at $144 per share in an overall deal that is valued at $3.2 billion.

In the third billion-dollar acquisition this year, the US soft drink giant will buy the Israeli drinks systems manufacturer in a deal closing January 2019.
