Everyone loves a good vacation, but waiting in never-ending security lines can be a real bummer. Israel's Tracense nanosensor bomb-detecting device may change that, with its chip that can sniff out explosives from 16 feet away and in under five seconds.

The satellites, weighing up to six kilograms, will be sent together to space as one structure and receive signals from Earth. In the future, they could be used for locating missing persons and people in distress.

Israeli company Particle Monitoring Technologies (PML) has come up with a dark laser beam that can monitor, separate and identify the tiniest particles in water, cement and fuel, to help ensure higher standards of water purification and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
