While schizophrenia has been recognized as a medical condition decades ago, very little is known about the condition and treatment is only successful in 50% of cases. A recent Israeli study has shed light on new ways of discovering and treating the condition.

Israeli researchers from the Technion found five genes that can predict Parkinson's disease. The findings could help identify high-risk patients before the onset of symptoms, thus allowing preventative treatments that can slow disease progression.
