BMW, GM, Via, Mobileye To Scout For Talent At TLV Job Fair

Leading companies in the transport and mobility sector are set to take part in a job fair in Tel Aviv later this week to scout for Israeli talent.

The event is hosted by EcoMotion, an Israeli community of over 600 startups and 10,000 members in the transportation sector, in partnership with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality. EcoMotion is a joint venture of the Israeli Innovation Institute, the Alternative Fuels and Smart Transportation Administration in the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministry of Economy.

Multinationals such as General Motors, BMW, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance as well as Israeli-founded firms like Via Transportation, Cognata, Innoviz, and Mobileye, now an Intel company, will have representatives at the fair set to take place on Friday, January 31, 2020, between 9:00 am and 13:30 pm.

The fair will be held at the municipality building itself in central Tel Aviv where new technologies and future developments in smart transport will be showcased, according to an announcement by EcoMotion. The participating companies are set to present over 200 open positions (software engineers, project managers, and so on) and allow interested parties to apply.

BMW opened a Tel Aviv office aimed at scouting for local tech last year, and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi recently inaugurated its Tel Aviv Innovation Lab in June focused on sensors for autonomous driving, cybersecurity, and Big Data, in collaboration with the local industry. The Alliance announced job openings such as Data & AI Project Manager, and Cyber ​​Security Specialist.

At the fair on Friday, industry experts are also scheduled to give lectures on mobility topics such as electric vehicles, autonomous and connected vehicles, maritime transport, mobility and aviation, as well as career development in the field.

Orly Dahan, the Community Director at EcoMotion, said the fair was a “one-of-a-kind opportunity to get to know the smart transport sector in Israel and even be part of it.”

The event, she added, is aimed at showcasing Israel’s successes in the field, as well as looking for “the brightest minds, developers from all sectors, cyber experts, engineers, researchers, and more.”

The smart transport and autonomous vehicle revolution “is a tremendous historical process and we offer the opportunity to get to know up close the technologies that are going to change our lives and even take a significant part in their development and design,” she went on.
