China’s Jiangsu Province To Launch Joint Sino-Israel Innovation Center In Tel Aviv

Jiangsu Province, a coastal Chinese province north of Shanghai, will inaugurate the Jiangsu-Israel Center, an innovation hub, in Tel Aviv this Wednesday to further establish its presence in Israel, a spokesperson for the center said.

The center is designed to host Israeli startups as well as Chinese companies interested in partnering with Israelis firms for innovative solutions.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by an executive delegation of Jiangsu province government officials, Matan Vilnai, the former Israeli Ambassador to China and Chairman of the Israel Asia Chamber of Commerce, Cui Yuting, Science and Technology Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy, as well as officials from the Israel Innovation Authority, investors, entrepreneurs and other Israeli guests.

On Sunday, Jiangsu Province and Israel signed 14 deals to enhance high-tech cooperation, reported the Xinhua News Agency, the official state-run press agency of China.

Those deals, in sectors like life science, medical devices, and smart manufacturing, were signed during the Jiangsu (Israel) Opening and Innovation Cooperation Symposium in Tel Aviv. More than 100 delegates from the Jiangsu Province and Israel attended the symposium.

Israel already has a presence in Jiangsu Province, via the China Changzhou Israel Innovation Park, a bi-national governmental initiative that provides a platform Israeli industrial companies to enter the Chinese market. Some 80 Israeli companies operate there, with help from the Israel Innovation Authority.
