Digital Services Marketplace Fiverr Opens First European Branch In Berlin

Fiverr, the Israeli-founded global marketplace for freelancers who advertise their services for as little as $5, announced that it was opening its first European branch in Berlin, Germany, where the company already has over 130,000 users.

Germany has a strong economy and is home to many small and medium-sized businesses that hire freelancers, explained Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman in a statement. Germany “is a highly attractive market for us,” he said, adding that German freelancers are in greater demand.

“Our surveys show that Made in Germany is a clear quality seal for services internationally. From now on, we will concentrate on paving the way for other German freelancers to enter a global market and expanding our German community,” he said.

Kaufman indicated that Berlin, “as Europe’s startup capital, offers the best conditions for our global expansion. We are committed to building a limitless global marketplace for the future of work. ”

Falko Krem, the appointed country manager for Germany, said: “Finding the right freelancer is very time-consuming. I can confirm that from my own experience. Especially for companies that are not located in the well-known hotspots, it is a major challenge to attract digital professionals – almost impossible. With Fiverr, we have tackled this problem.”

The opening of the new branch will give German companies of various sizes, entrepreneurs and startups access to millions of freelancers spanning across 190 countries. With the new entry, the company is intensifying its marketing efforts in Germany, creating social media and video content in German, in the hope of attracting new customers and service providers.

Fiverr’s platform enables customers to hire specialized creative and digital experts located anywhere in the world who can provide services in more than 200 categories, from translations and logo designs to app development, market analysis, and consulting services.
