The roof of the center building of Or Torah high school in Jerusalem used to look like a typical rooftop. But over the past couple of months its been changed dramatically: It is now covered by a garden full of plants and flowers. Besides making the building seem more aesthetic, its influence on the environment will be great and help save energy, control rain fall and reduce noise.
During the past year there has been a vast growth in initiatives to create these sort of rooftops on many buildings in Israel. The Jerusalem municipality is going through great measures to create a wide plan that will include many buildings across the city.
