January 7, 2016 | Israeli automative cyber security startup TowerSec has been acquired by Harman International Industries for what market sources believe to be $70 million. A developer of connected car systems, Harman has reported over $6 billion in international sales (2015), and will integrate TowerSec into its 5+1 security framework, which protects the critical points of vulnerability in the connected and autonomous car. Founded in 2012 and run by Co-Founder and CEO Saar Dickman, TowerSec has developed real-time, embedded software security products to protect vehicles from hacking and intrusions. It is expected that Dickman and his Co-Founders, CTO Yuval Weisglass and CSIO Guy Ruvio, will together pull in $45 million from the deal.
