December 31, 2015 | The Israeli Robotics Association signed an agreement with a coalition of Chinese investors and the city of Guangzhou, which together will invest $20 million to build a robotics R&D center in Israel dedicated to developing robotic technology that will help China to automate and modernize its industrial sector. Under the terms of the agreement, the technology will be developed by Israeli and Chinese researchers in Israel, and will be mass-produced in China. This deal follows the agreement in September when the two countries signed a joint agreement to establish the Sino-Israeli Robotics Institute (SIRI), the centerpiece of a new $2 billion industrial park in Guangzhou.
