March 22, 2015 | Israeli startup Meerkat, which allows users to stream live video from their smartphones to Twitter, has raised $12 million from venture capital firm Greylock Partners, according to a TechCruch report. So far, the startup has raised $16.2 million and is valued at $40 million. Formerly known as Yevvo, the company was founded in 2012 by Ben Rubin, Roi Tirosh and Itai Danino.
