May 26, 2014 | Medical device company Nyxoah, which is developing a sleep apnea treatment, has raised €8 million ($10.9 million) in its Series A funding round, according to Israeli news website Globes. The device is intended to treat patients with sleep apnea by sending electrical pulses to stimulate nerves that will keep the airways open. Nyxoah had already raised €10.2 million from private investors and government incentives in Belgium, where the company is headquartered. The funds will be used to finance a multi-center clinical trial in Europe, according to Globes.
