An international vegan burger chain backed by actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has added an Israeli plant-based salmon alternative to the menu at its New York branch.
Oshi’s salmon alternative is the world’s first plant-based fish filet with the taste and texture of the original.
The startup’s unique machinery meticulously constructs each filet, layer by layer of flakes and fat, using mycoprotein, a mycelium-based protein that also provides micronutrients, complemented by algae and vegetable oils.
“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Neat Burger, backed by none other than Lewis Hamilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, bringing Oshi’s delicious plant-based salmon to their menu in NYC! It’s fantastic to see our products featured in more and more NYC restaurants, making sustainable dining options accessible to all,” the company wrote on social media.
“At Neat Burger, you can now enjoy our Oshi salmon in delicious vegan fish tacos, rice bowls, and Caesar salad with avocado. Check out the photos of Neat Burger and their amazing dishes. We can’t wait for you to try our salmon and experience the incredible flavors for yourself.”
The startup has also struck distribution agreements with US online food industry retailer WebstaurantStore, Vegconomist magazine reported, as well as other distributors that cover states including New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
