Israeli automotive solutions company Cipia says it has received an order for 40,000 licenses of its driver monitoring software (DMS), for a US express delivery company, one of the world’s largest.
The DMS uses AI and computer vision to monitor drivers for distraction and drowsiness levels while they are behind the wheel, examining details such as gaze vector, blink rate and eye openness, in order to create a safer driving experience.
According to Cipia, the order marks a major advancement for its expansion into the US and global fleet aftermarket (automotive components) industry and shows the increasing demand for AI-based monitoring technology.
The integration of the driver monitoring system, Cipia says, will significantly enhance the safety and operational efficiency of the fleet.
“We are thrilled to see Cipia’s advanced driver monitoring technology chosen to support one of the largest express delivery companies in the world,” said Cipia CEO Yehuda Holtzman.
“Our commitment to advancing road safety in the vehicle fleet industry is unwavering, and we are excited to bring our innovative solutions to the aftermarket industry.”
In June, Cipia was asked to provide its DMS to a leading European maker of components for commercial vehicles, which planned to include it in five different truck models manufactured in Europe and sold worldwide.
