Israeli startup Arbe Robotics, which makes radar technology for autonomous vehicles, has been selected by one of the top 10 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the world for the development of its next-generation imaging radar.
OEMs are companies that make parts for use by a different manufacturer. This is common in the automotive industry, where products made by multiple different companies are used in the manufacture of vehicles.
Arbe called the move a “major milestone” that highlights the company’s leadership in radar technology and said it paves the way for substantial commercial growth.
The decision to use Arbe technology came following a technical evaluation and field test of the technology, and the unnamed OEM has confirmed that preparations will begin immediately for serial production.
“Being chosen by one of the top OEMs in the world is a landmark achievement for Arbe. We believe that by aligning with a major OEM, Arbe is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for advanced radar systems and expects a ramp-up in sales and market share in the near future,” said Arbe CEO Kobi Marenko.
“This selection of the Arbe solution following a thorough evaluation validates our technological leadership. We look forward to a successful implementation, which will drive significant value for the industry,” he said.
