Tel Aviv University Ranked 5th In The World For Entrepreneurship

Tel Aviv University took 5th in the world among universities with alumni that have a strong level of involvement in entrepreneurship, according to a ranking put together by Startup Genome, an innovation policy advisory and research firm for 2021. The ranking also has to do with the establishment of scaleup companies (companies that have advanced beyond the startup stage, with their worth estimated at $50 million or more, the report said.

According to the ranking, about 1,300 TAU alumni have founded active companies in a vast range of areas over the last decades, and about 40 of these have attained the status of scaleup companies.

The top four academic institutions that ranked ahead of Tel Aviv University are leading American universities in Califonria and Massachusetts — Stanford University, MIT in Massachusetts, UC Berkeley, and Harvard University.

Tel Aviv University is the only non-American university in the report’s top 10, which includes universities like Cornell University, Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University.
