Israeli startup EVR Motors has inaugurated a plant in India to produce electric coils – a key component of its proprietary electric motor technology.
The plant in Manesar is the first time an Israeli automotive company has opened a manufacturing operation in India. It is designed to produce coils for some 20,000 motors per month, with a plan to rapidly expand to 100,000 coils, in line with growing global demand for electric vehicles.
EVR says its innovative Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motor means the production of smaller, cheaper and more sustainable electric vehicles, which can also be tailored to individual customer requirements.
The Petah Tikva-based company has already signed agreements with a number of major Indian carmakers, and the manufacture of its motors for a range of vehicles will begin this year.
“The opening of our new manufacturing plant in Manesar marks a major milestone in EVR’s mission to transform electric mobility through pioneering motor technologies,” said EVR Chairman Nick Rogers.
“EVR India represents a cornerstone of our business model. By establishing our own production facility for these electric motor coils, we’re securing a critical component and ensuring a robust, stable supply chain for our customers. This vertical integration strategy underpins our company’s growth plans, not only for India but also for our global operations.”
