Israeli AI car inspection platform UVeye was named a winner of the 2024 Automotive News PACE Award winner at a ceremony in Detroit on April 29.
The prestigious annual awards, which have been running since the 1990s, are bestowed on technical innovations in the automotive industry that have been commercially produced. They are seen as a benchmark of quality in the industry.
UVeye uses artificial intelligence, machine-learning, sensor-fusion and high-speed-camera systems to inspect vehicles. The company says it’s significantly more accurate than time-consuming manual inspections.
The Tel Aviv-based company was also named a 2024 Automotive News PACE Partnership Innovation Award winner for its partnership with General Motors, which came into effect in 2022.
“For 29 years, the PACE program has celebrated cutting-edge innovations that have shaped the automotive industry on a global level,” said Automotive News Executive Editor Jamie Butters.
“The companies on this year’s list have pioneered significant technologies that will continue to propel the industry forward,” Butters said.
“We are thrilled to receive both the Automotive News PACE Award and the Automotive News PACE Partnership Innovation Award for our AI-powered vehicle inspection systems and for our work with General Motors,” said UVeye founder and CEO Amir Hever.
“This recognition is a testament to our innovative technology and showcases our commitment to reshaping the future of mobility. Innovation at UVeye is not just about creating new technology; it’s about continuously pushing boundaries to deliver solutions that redefine automotive safety, vehicle inspection and more. We are grateful for GM’s collaboration and support in driving forward this transformative vision.”
