Beilinson Hospital in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva has launched a virtual medical center in line with what it says is a growing demand in the country for telehealth services.
According to Beilinson, the hospital has seen a 25 percent increase in demand for remote health services since the October 7 mass terror attack that led to the ongoing war in Gaza.
Beilinson and Hasharon Hospital come together under the umbrella of Rabin Medical Center, which is operated by the Clalit health maintenance organization.
The Beilinson NEXT service is available for no additional cost to all Israelis with the correct referral, whether the patient is a member of Clalit or belongs to a different HMO.
“The war has made us rethink how medical care is delivered to our patients and increasingly, there is a need for remote medical services,” said Beilinson Hospital CEO Dr. Eitan Wirtheim.
“Our top priorities remain bringing top of the line medical and patient care and Beilinson NEXT allows us to do so in the most accessible way possible as patients can remain in the comfort of their own home and be treated by our physicians,” he said.
“Through Beilinson NEXT, we can treat someone who lives in the North or the South and would otherwise have to think about taking time off from work to see our specialists. We can now treat them while they are sitting at their kitchen table or their desk at work.”
