US chip giant Nvidia has purchased its second Israeli creator of artificial intelligence software within days, with the acquisition of Deci AI for an undisclosed sum.
The Ramat Gan-based startup’s deep-learning platform allows companies to use AI to build AI. Its generative AI models include the DeciCoder, a code generator that can understand, summarize, generate and predict new written content.
Deci says that companies using its generative AI models can reduce their inference computing costs – or the ability of the AI to make predictions from novel data – by up to 80 percent, while also improving the quality of their product.
The company, which was founded in 2019, has so far raised a reported $55 million in funding.
Nvidia last week also purchased Run:ai, which has developed an AI-driven infrastructure automation and management platform, for a reported $700 million. The Deci deal is believed to be for a smaller sum.
The Run:ai platform allows a team to all access a centralized management system for a more efficient and stable development process.
“Run:ai has been a close collaborator with Nvidia since 2020 and we share a passion for helping our customers make the most of their infrastructure,” said Run:ai co-founder and CEO Omri Geller.
“We’re thrilled to join Nvidia and look forward to continuing our journey together,” he said.
