Israeli generative AI video company D-ID has widely released its virtual avatars that can understand users’ verbal commands and respond in multiple languages, with facial expressions and hand gestures included.
The company says its D-ID Agents can be incorporated into businesses’ digital platforms to enhance the customer experience through human-like interactions. The avatars can also appear as different ages, genders and ethnicities.
The technology is powered by Natural User Interface (NUI), which allows the avatars to hold conversations with the users, creating what D-ID says is a sense of mutual understanding, emotional connection and trust.
“The NUI platform is… enabling companies to develop interfaces that facilitate natural, face-to-face conversations with customers,” said Gil Perry, CEO and co-founder of D-ID, last year.
The avatars also operate through Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, facilitating accurate, swift responses within seconds.
“Making D-ID Agents widely available is a leap forward in our mission to bridge the communications gap between humans and rapidly advancing technologies,” said Perry.
“As LLMs (large language models) become increasingly critical for enterprises, we understood that the natural progression was to move from text-based interactions to audio and video. So, our platform is not just about enhancing digital interactions; it’s about transforming them into meaningful conversations, fostering trust and understanding between businesses and their customers.”
